What a year this has been... 2020 is definitely a year we will never forget. The year that changed who we are and what our world would become. A year none of us could of ever imagined as we said goodbye to 2019 and looked forward to a brand new decade. 2020 started off about the same as any other year, full of hope and excitement as we looked forward to what was ahead. Then we started to hear about Covid -19 (Coronavirus). Little did we know that would change the world as we know it. 2020 is the year we found out we were living in a pandemic.
There have been some good things and bad that the pandemic changed in our lives this year. I feel we have grown closer as a family unit but with great sadness that loved ones that don't live here in our "pod" we haven't seen in over a year. We are so thankful to have jobs as so many don't. Brian is an essential worker... the mail never stops. The kids and I had off 6 months from school. We left for spring break and they didn't go back to the school building. I would still go into.work on certain days. The joke was the longest spring break in history. Well, we didn't really have off for the rest of March to May. We had "Corona School" which is what we called remote learning. It was tough for teachers to try to teach like they have never taught before, to a computer instead of a classroom full of kids. Everything was online which posed another problem. What to do with all the households that didn't have internet. We had to go to school and make packets for parents to drive by and pickup so those kids could still do their work. At the elementary everyone got packets because we didn't have the technology for them to take home. That was something no one was prepared for. The first semester back at school this fall has had its challenges but we are still in school and better prepared if we all have to go remote again. All students K-12 have a device now. They use them everyday in class with assignments so.if they have to transition to remote for any reason it is an easy transition.
Looking forward to what the future holds as we move into a new year!
